Among those priceless legacies is Axum, the most important archeological site in Ethiopia. It is well known for its ruined palace of the legendary Queen of Sheba who reigned about 1000 B.C. The greatest mystery of all is the son of Queen of Sheba, Menelik I, the first king from the Solomonic Dynasty brought with him the Arc of the covenant which is believed to be preserved in the church of St. Mary of Zion in Axum.
